Simple and selective, witty and entertaining, James Joyce’s delightful illustrations are an assured remedy for those Monday-morning blues.

The immensely talented and sublimely subversive illustrator Richard Hogg opens his solo show ‘Of The Wall’ at the Concrete Hermit gallery, London E1, tonight at 6pm. The show runs until August 29th.
Really like this pyramidal CD packaging for RIEN. One of many great projects from French studio PNTS.
Seemingly various excercises in eclecticism, the work of s—w, a collaboration between Tobias Becker & Matthias Kantereit, is truly diverse and yet admirably consistent.
I’m back from a two-week holiday and am, therefore, offering my sincerest apologies for the lack of posts (and tan!) my end. However, I’m straight back to business with Isabelle Vaverka’s tangible study into the numerous interactions with individual volumes in a personal library, that, along with all the other examples of her work on her site, is beatifully realised and presented.
Nicolas Malinowsky of Ill Studio has his first solo exhibition “La vie après la mort”. Each piece draws on Nicolas’ own inspirations which include science, mysticism and surrealism.
Hoping for sunshine preparing for rain is the portfolio of 2nd year student Andrew Lister. Some promising work including this visual diary of a trip to Barcelona.
Solid portfolio by Dylan Mulvaney including this bilingual, expandable book designed in honour of Josef Müller-Brockmann. Via AisleOne.
Mr & Mrs Pop Punk over at Telegramme make some rather lovely prints. You can buy one of thier latest over at the Print Club store.
The beautifully designed Counter-Print online shop specialises in hard-to-find and out-of-print art-and-design-related printed material. I’ve got my eye on this fantastic book ‘Ottagono 56’ (above) by Salvatore Gregorietti and am beginning to get the feeling this site will drain many paychecks to come!
Adore this print from my ex-colleague and friend Daniel Diggle. Take a look at his flickr for some great shots of the craftsmanship involved in such a piece.
Although the exceptional (and undeniably heartwarming) retrospective photographs of New York’s Lower East Side are the main focus of ‘The Front Door Book’ by Clayton Patterson, I couldn’t help but feature one of the books’ beautiful, typographically-led pages (above) designed by cultural-design specialists, Fogelson-Lubliner.
Dom Meaker’s beautiful draughtsmanship and sharp (and detectably gruesome) wit is evident in each one of his meticulous and somewhat insidious illustrations. Dom’s brilliant mask print, featured in the ‘Secret Blisters’ show at Print Club London is available from the Print Club website.
Slick collection of work from Stockholm based studio 25 AH including these bold prints for the nightclub Schatzi!
Rather jealous of this lovely collection of scans from vintage books and journals, especially those from Biology Today. A great resource.
